Job Role:             Facilities & Logistics Support Operative

Location:             Preston

Hours:                  37.5 Hours per week

Holidays:              25 days plus bank holidays

Reporting To:      Facilities & Logistics Team Leader

Skiddle was born in 2001 as a what's on guide and began selling tickets in 2006 and is now one of the UK's most loved ticketing services selling tickets for tens of thousands of events throughout the UK, from independent club nights through to 60,000 capacity festivals. Skiddle currently sells tickets for the likes of The Warehouse Project, Creamfields, Digbeth Dining Club and Live Nation, and hundreds of independent venues and promoters across the country. 

Role Summary:

The role of Operations Assistant is to support the operations team with various duties that include: Driving the Skiddle advertising vehicle, facilities management, asset management, Rapidscan support, building maintenance, planning and assisting with projects, stock rotation/store room management and providing event support as and when required.

You’ll work collaboratively with the operations team to ensure that exceptional service levels, client satisfaction, continuous improvement and innovation is provided to our customers, promoters and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving the Skiddle advertising vehicle across the UK as and when required
  • Office and stock room maintenance
  • Providing support across the business including distribution of company equipment and arranging replacement equipment as and when required
  • Corresponding with customers, clients, suppliers, and contractors
  • Customer delivery follow up calls
  • Booking goods in and out from suppliers and to customers
  • Customer delivery follow-up calls
  • Requesting lead times and pricing from suppliers
  • Supporting ongoing projects within the business including Highest Point Festival
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism with customers
  • Any other reasonable requested task within skill set

Asset Management  

  • Manage all skiddle assets across the business
  • Maintain the ‘Item it system’ so that accurate records are kept up to date
  • Liaise with the finance department to ensure valuable goods are accounted for 
  • Make sure all ticket scanners and all event support assets are managed accordingly

Vehicles 

  • Keep on top of maintenance schedule (book MOT’S, services and repair work)
  • Ensure compliance of the vehicle policy and procedure by all employees
  • Keep vehicles clean and tidy and report any issues to the Operations Manager
  • Carry out monthly P,O,W,D,E,R checks (Petro/diesel, oil, water, damage, electrics, rubber)

Event Support

Assisting with operational supervision and set-up to support Skiddle at events including:

  • Sound system, staging, lighting and all other event related set up when required
  • Rapidscan support
  • Project and planning support 
  • Gate set up and supervision
  • Co-ordinating the required Skiddle support at festivals
  • DJ equipment 
  • Stretch tents, inflatable tents, marquees

Facilities 

  • Facilities management across all the Skiddle offices including contract management
  • Weekly, monthly routine building checks
  • Maintaining Skiddle stores including the depot, containers, and server room
  • Assisting with conducting risk assessments and fire alarm testing/fire evacuation processes

Person Specification:.

The successful candidate for this role will be confident and enthusiastic with a thirst for knowledge allowing them to gain a strong command of the company’s policies. You will need to demonstrate hands-on delivery but also show that you can develop your own priorities rather than simply implement.

You will have a genuine interest in the events industry is essential for offering efficient resolutions to our customers as the first point of contact. We are looking for someone who will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and will uphold our core values through authenticity.

You will be able to cope with several priorities, across all aspects of Operations and juggle short term day to day tactical issues.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving License
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Punctuality and timekeeping are essential
  • Good organisational, planning and people skills
  • Competent numeracy and literacy
  • Excellent levels of computer literacy including Microsoft Office and Excel

Please note: The head office is easily accessible from the M6 however rurally based; therefore own transportation is highly recommended.
